What's New

A peek at what we've been working on ☕

More photos for your walks

Walks could always carry a photo. Now they can carry up to three, so the light through the trees, the dog mid-zoom, and the coffee afterwards no longer have to compete for one spot. Photo management has moved to its own little button on the dashboard, right next to the reflection one. And you can now give each photo a caption, a few words to remember the moment by. Captions save quietly as you go, and they travel with the photo wherever you already share it. As always, photos are optional. They gather in Memories, yours alone unless you decide to share one.

Public profiles, your way

Public profiles can now include a Photo Wall and Recent Walks, giving you a little more room to share your walking life. You can choose who sees each section anytime from your profile settings. We have also made our usual updates and fixes in many other places around MossMug. As always, we would love to hear your feedback about these updates, or anything else on your mind!

Little additions for your walks

In our latest update, we've added a few new ways to make your walks feel more like your own. You can now note "one good thing" from a walk, tag the weather, and set a quiet walk intention whenever the mood strikes. We've also tucked in a "Year in Walks" keepsake so you can wander back through your year, made it easy to search your journal by note or mood, and let you customize which details show when you log a walk. And the walk logging area has a gentle new look to make settling in after a stroll feel just a little warmer. It's all still the same simple button, just a little cleaner and more pressure-free than before. Happy wandering.

Dress up your avatar with frames

Your avatar can now wear a frame, a decorative ring that shows up wherever you appear: in circles, friend lists, activity feeds, and on your public profile. There are 30 frames to collect. A few warm starter colors are yours from day one, and the rest you earn just by walking and exploring. Milestones like 10, 100, and 1000 days walked, seasonal achievements, late-night strolls, trail discoveries, and quiet moments of warmth in The Meadow all unlock their own ring. Some glow, some shimmer, some quietly pulse. Head to Settings → Appearance to pick yours, and swap it anytime. No pressure, just a little flourish for the trail you've already walked.

Cozy music and a palette that follows the day

We added two small things to make MossMug feel a touch cozier. Both are completely optional, so take what feels nice and leave the rest. Cozy music. There's now a soft little music player you can press play on whenever you visit. It loops gentle instrumental tracks while you log your walks, and it stays quiet until you press play. Everyone starts with a few tracks, and more turn up as you keep walking and through little moments around MossMug. If you like, you can even have your track start the moment you press "I Walked Today!". You'll find it all under Settings, Sound. A living palette. Your dashboard has a new color option called Time of Day. Instead of staying the same, it shifts gently with the hours, drifting from a soft sunrise through the middle of the day to a quiet dusk and evening. Pick it from your dashboard's color settings and let the page keep you company through the day. Happy walking ☕

Public Walking Circles

Walking Circles can now be public. If you don't have walking buddies yet, you no longer have to wait for an invite. Head to Discover to browse public circles and join one, or hit "join a random circle" and let us pick. Either way, you'll be walking alongside new people who quietly cheer each other on. It's the same quiet circle you already know: one daily checkmark per person, no leaderboards, no rankings, no pressure. Meet someone you click with, and a friend request is one tap away. Prefer to keep things small and private? Nothing changes. Circles stay private by default, and going public is always your choice.

Tags for your walks

You can now give your walks little tags. Make your own (with the dog, a sunrise spot, a mobility aid) and add them to any walk when you log it. They're completely optional, just a gentle way to remember the shape of a walk. Tags stay private by default. Mark one public and it can appear on your shared walks, your public profile, and in the Meadow. A public tag is enough to bring a walk into the Meadow on its own. Create and manage yours anytime in Settings > Tags. No goals, no pressure, only the bits you feel like keeping.

The Meadow is open

A quiet, anonymous feed of walks across MossMug. No profiles, no counts. Walks appear here anonymously by default; your name, avatar, and profile never show up. Notes, moods, and photos stay private unless you opt in from Settings. Tap the heart on any card to send a little warmth.

A gentle weekly aim, if you want one

You can now set a small weekly goal for your walks. Pick "a few days a week" (any number from 1 to 7), or specific weekdays like Mon, Wed, and Sat. Your dashboard shows a little "this week's aim" card so you can see how the week is going. It's optional. No goal is set by default, missing a day doesn't break anything, and next week always starts fresh. Set one up in Settings › Goal.

New: Walk Time & Cozy Rewards

You can now set the time of your walk after logging it, perfect for those moments when you walked earlier but tapped the button later. There are also new rewards to discover, including fresh reward types like color palettes to make MossMug feel even more like your own little walking nook.

Enhanced Walking Circles

Walking Circles now have a shared weekly reflection, recent walk history, and a photo wall for walk photos members choose to share. It is a warmer way to look back at the little moments your circle has collected together.

Multiple Walks Per Day

Some days have more than one walk in them. MossMug now lets you log multiple walks on the same day, so each outing can have its own note, photo, mood, or little moment. Your milestones and main progress still count days walked, keeping things calm and pressure-free. Tried it out? Share what you think using the Feedback link while you're logged in.

Share a walk with friends and family

Turn any walk into a quiet little postcard you can send to friends and family - no app or sign-up needed for them to open it. Create a link from any walk, choose once in Settings > Sharing whether to include your mood, note, and photo, and pin favourites to your public profile as "Featured walks". You can turn off a single link or invalidate all of them any time. Alongside this, we've also tidied up a handful of small rough edges around the app - little fixes and gentle polish you probably won't notice, but the app should feel a touch smoother for it.

Introducing Walking Circles

Walk together with the people you care about. Circles are small, private groups where you and your friends, family, or coworkers can see who walked today. No goals, no pressure, just a little shared nudge to get moving. Create a circle and invite people with a simple link. See who walked today at a glance. Share walk photos with your circle if you want to. Post short updates to cheer each other on. Each circle holds up to 100 members, and you can join up to 5. Your circles are completely private, only members can see who's in them. Head to Circles in the menu to create your first one.

Footprints & Walk Photos

Two new things to explore. The Footprints page brings your walking journey together in one place - stats, insights, your walking rhythm, a monthly breakdown, and a full walk journal. You'll find it in the navigation bar. You can also attach a photo to any walk now. A tree you passed, the sky that morning, your muddy shoes - whatever caught your eye. Your photos appear in a gallery on your Footprints page where you can browse them anytime.
