1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using MossMug ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MossMug is a simple walking habit tracking application that allows users to log their daily walks and track their progress over time. The Service is currently provided free of charge. Features include:

  • Daily walk logging (one walk per day)
  • Progress tracking with milestones and achievements
  • Optional public profile to share your walking journey
  • Social features including friends and friend requests
  • Customizable rewards such as color themes and button icons
  • Optional email notifications for achievements, milestones, and weekly digests

We may introduce optional paid features or subscriptions in the future, but we will always maintain core functionality for free users.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must register for an account using either an email address and password, or through a third-party authentication provider (such as Google). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Not share your account with others
  • Be at least 13 years of age to create an account

4. User Content and Conduct

You are responsible for the data you submit to the Service, including profile information, bio, and any content shared through public profiles or social features. You agree to:

  • Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Not post offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content in your bio or profile
  • Not harass, abuse, or harm other users through the friends feature
  • Not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
  • Log walks honestly (the Service is designed for building genuine habits)

5. Public Profiles

The Service offers an optional public profile feature that allows you to share your walking journey with others. When you enable a public profile:

  • Your profile will be accessible via a public URL based on your chosen username
  • You control what information is displayed (stats, achievements, calendar, etc.)
  • You can disable your public profile at any time
  • You are responsible for any content you choose to make public

6. Social Features

The Service includes optional social features that allow you to connect with other users as friends. Friend connections are mutual and require acceptance from both parties. You can remove friends at any time.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MossMug shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.

10. Health Disclaimer

MossMug is a habit tracking tool and is not intended to provide medical advice. Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any exercise program. We are not responsible for any health issues that may arise from your use of the Service.

11. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

12. Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through your Account Settings. You have two options:

  • Delete Walking Data: Removes all your walking history and achievements while keeping your account active. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Delete Account: Permanently deletes your entire account and all associated data. This action is immediate, irreversible, and cannot be recovered.

We may also terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
